If you're comfortable using your phone's photo gallery, you'll be comfortable using DentalFolio. It follows the same mental model, organised around patients and cases rather than albums. Most dentists find they're using it confidently within minutes.

Is this like Dropbox?

No. It's built for clinical use, not just storage.

DentalFolio is designed around how clinical photography is actually used: by patient, by case, and for clear before-and-after presentation, with consent information kept alongside the images.

Where are my photos stored? Is it secure?

Security and compliance are built in.

Images are encrypted and stored on secure, EU-based cloud infrastructure designed for sensitive data. Access is controlled at account level, and images are not used for analytics, advertising, or AI training. If devices are changed, images remain available after logging in.

What about consent and GDPR?

Handled as part of the workflow.

DentalFolio supports structured consent recording, allowing documentation of how images are intended to be used, such as for clinical records or education. A clear audit trail is maintained if needed.

Will phone photos be good enough?

Modern phone cameras, used with appropriate lighting, are well suited to clinical photography. DentalFolio's guided capture additionally supports consistent framing and orientation. DSLR images can also be imported if preferred.

What if I want to leave? Can I export my photos?

Yes. Your images always belong to you.

You can export your entire library in bulk, or select individual images within cases. There is no lock-in. If DentalFolio isn't the right fit, your images can be taken elsewhere.
